My client, a well‑established Top 100 Accountancy firm with a strong presence across the entertainment, sports and creative sectors, is seeking an experienced Private Client Tax Manager to join their expanding team. You’ll oversee a diverse portfolio of HNWIs, non‑domiciled individuals, partners, directors, and private clients across a range of sectors.
Role OverviewYou will manage the delivery of high‑quality private client tax compliance and advisory services, lead and develop a team of tax staff, and work closely with Partners on complex planning projects. This role offers autonomy, client ownership, and strong prospects for progression.
Key Responsibilities- Manage a varied portfolio of personal tax clients, ensuring compliance work is delivered accurately and on time
- Review complex Self‑Assessment tax returns and advise on technical matters
- Lead advisory projects covering residence/domicile, CGT, IHT, wealth structuring and estate planning
- Act as key point of contact for clients, building strong long‑term relationships
- Manage HMRC interactions and oversee detailed correspondence
- Supervise, mentor and develop junior team members
- Monitor workflow, billing and WIP, ensuring efficient portfolio management
- Conduct technical research and support Partners with bespoke consultancy work
- Extensive experience in Private Client Tax within practice (Manager level or an experienced Assistant Manager ready to step up)
- CTA qualified (ACA/ACCA advantageous) or extensive practice experience in personal/private client tax
- Strong technical knowledge across income tax, CGT, IHT, residence and domicile
- Proven client management and team leadership skills
- Excellent communication, organisation and problem‑solving ability
