Who we’re looking for
We are seeking a talented and dynamic individual who possesses a thirst for knowledge and excels in high-pressure environments. The position will offer a fast‑paced and intellectually challenging work environment that offers varied exposure to public and private markets and a high level of responsibility.
One of the key tasks is a review of the valuation governance within Schroders Capital to ensure alignment with the Schroders Group Pricing structures, this will include looking at valuation policies across global management companies and at the private asset pillars (Private Equity, Real Estate, Infrastructure including renewables, Impact investing, Private Debt and Credit, asset securitisation) valuation methodologies. Ability to form an independent view on private assets pricing and acting as subject matter expert for valuation and pricing related topics within Schroders Capital are key for this role.
Whatyou’ll do
- Carry out a governance review across private assets with a view to optimising the policy and committee structures
- Review and implement processes, policies and procedures across private assets in alignment with Group policies and regulatory standards
- Liaise with stakeholders and standard setters on valuation related topics to ensure an effective and efficient valuation process
- Ensure compliance with the global instrument pricing policy
- Review pricing issues and prepare review/summary documentation for the pricing committee
- Stay ahead of industry trends, monitor market events, and assess the impact on valuation requirements
- Oversee on boarding of new instruments from a valuation perspective
- Degree in a relevant discipline such as business, finance or accounting
- Substantial previous pricing/valuation experience
- Strong familiarity with the principles and methodologies used in private asset valuations
- Good understanding of valuation governance including regulatory requirements, FRC, IPEV etc.
- Good written and verbal communication skills – You will be conversing with many stakeholders, across various Schroders departments.
- Further education in Finance (e.g. CIIA, CFA, Investment Management, M&A , CA) is of an advantage
