As an Associate Controller within the Private Banking Finance team, you will be working as part of a high performing team who are responsible for the integrity of the financials and month end close, regulatory reporting and statutory accounts. You will also have many opportunities to work on various projects and apply automation skills. The team looks after the financials of all of the Private Banking business within EMEA ex Switzerland.
Jobresponsibilities
- Oversee and take responsibility for the integrity (accuracy and completeness) of the Private Banking financials for the London Branch, both in line with US GAAP and local GAAP (e.g. IFRS)
- Complete detailed analysis and variance commentary on monthly P&L and balance sheet that is used for reporting to senior management
- Provide Line of Business (“LOB”) information for US and local (European and UK) regulatory reporting
- Perform analysis of IFRS 9 and US GAAP current expected credit loss (CECL) numbers
- Assist the project team with new initiatives
- Work with internal and external audit
- Assess effectiveness of controls and ensuring all process documentation is up to date and compliant
- Support the preparation of statutory financial statements for the Trust company that the team oversees
- Respond to various ad hoc queries from a variety of stakeholders
- You have experience working in accounting/finance and either be qualified or working towards completing a professional accounting qualification
- You possess an enquiring, analytical mind, perseverance, and the ability to handle a large amount of data
- You have a strong control mindset and are able to demonstrate the ability to identify areas for improvement/efficiency and implement these
- You can independently problem solve and work autonomously
- You possess advanced Microsoft excel skills
- You have excellent written and verbal communication
- An interest in learning skills around automation and AI
- A working knowledge of automation tools (Alteryx, Tableau, etc)
