Summary
SailGP is seeking a full‑time Accounting Assistant based in London who will support the finance department in payables and receivables, monthly and ad‑hoc reporting. The successful candidate will have a university degree (preferably in finance or accounting), at least one introductory financial accounting course, and plans to progress their education through a professional designation. Strong communication, analytical skills, and proficiency with financial systems and Excel are required.
Essential Responsibilities
- Assist finance team with departmental inquiries
- Work closely with accountants or finance managers
- Process invoices, bills, and expenses (checking coding, subsidiaries, invoice details) and ensure compliance with accounting standards and tax rules
- Create new vendors (Gatekeeper) and customers (Net Suite)
- Maintain monthly credit‑card reconciliations, post transactions, and liaise with credit‑card holders
- Reconcile monthly statements from vendors
- Enter and check coding of staff expense reports
- Manage accounts payable
- Maintain accounts and allocations for global events
- Liaise with travel team to reconcile all travel‑related charges
- Assist finance team in ad‑hoc and monthly financial reporting on a timely basis

About You (Qualifications)
- Experience in an administrative finance role (desirable)
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Understanding of debits/credits
- Degree level education or equivalent
- High computer literacy with MS Office and related business and communication tools (SAP Concur, Net Suite)
- Hands‑on self‑starter with proven ability to multi‑task
- Ability to operate independently and in a collaborative team environment
- Strong organizational, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills
- Works comfortably under pressure and meets tight deadlines
- Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, start‑up environment
- Excellent spoken and written communication skills
- Culturally sensitive and able to work globally
