Senior Financial Reporting Manager

A leading FTSE-listed organisation headquartered in London is seeking a Senior Financial Reporting Manager to strengthen its Group Finance function. This highly visible role offers extensive exposure to the senior leadership, playing a pivotal role in ensuring the integrity of the Group’s financial reporting under IFRS
.

The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant with deep technical expertise in IFRS and group consolidation. The role requires a self‑directed professional with a strong interest in financial systems and process optimisation, capable of delivering high‑quality outputs independently within a complex listed environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Reporting & Technical Accounting
  • Own and deliver all technical accounting and financial reporting requirements in respect of revenue recognition (IFRS 15), group consolidation (IFRS 10) and intercompany accounting, ensuring full compliance with IFRS and Group accounting policies.
  • Act as the primary technical accounting lead for complex transactions, providing robust analysis, position papers and clear accounting conclusions.
  • Serve as the principal point of contact for the external auditors
    , managing audit deliverables, technical queries, and resolution of issues.
  • Consolidation, Controls & Balance Sheet
  • Take full end‑to‑end ownership of complex intercompany reconciliations, including investigation, resolution, and correction of underlying data issues without reliance on other teams.
  • Maintain strong control over the balance sheet, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and timely resolution of reconciling items.
  • Independently extract, analyse, and validate large and complex data sets, ensuring data integrity and insightful financial analysis.
  • Systems, Process & Change Leadership
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives across accounting, consolidation, and reporting processes, including documentation of data flows, identification of control weaknesses, and implementation of enhanced processes and controls.
  • Act as the primary owner of finance systems queries, enhancements, and troubleshooting, driving solutions and improvements directly with minimal dependency on other functions.
  • Design, implement, and transition new processes to support monthly and annual close cycles, strengthening the Group’s Accounting, Control and Reporting framework.
  • Projects & Stakeholder Management
  • Lead and deliver ad‑hoc and project‑based initiatives, working closely with the Group Finance Manager and Head of Group Reporting to track progress and ensure timely delivery of key Financial Reporting projects.
  • Provide technical and project support to stakeholders across the business on new initiatives, acquisitions, restructurings, and process change programmes.
  • Communicate effectively and confidently with senior stakeholders while retaining clear accountability for deliverables and outcomes.
Candidate Profile
  • ACA / ICAEW qualified with strong post‑qualification experience.
  • Big 4 trained with demonstrable experience in a listed or complex reporting environment.
  • Advanced technical accounting knowledge across IFRS, with the ability to prepare and communicate complex accounting positions clearly.
  • Proven track record of delivering finance transformation, process optimisation and control improvement initiatives.
  • Highly proactive, resilient, and comfortable operating autonomously in a demanding environment.
  • Strong commercial mindset with clear ambition to progress.
