As Revenue Accounting & Taxation Manager, you will hold a senior and influential position within the Corporate Finance team. You will lead on revenue accounting, budget monitoring and indirect taxation, while providing high-quality professional advice to senior leaders and stakeholders across the organisation. This role combines strategic responsibility with hands-on technical work and people leadership.
Key Responsibilities Lead the preparation and reporting of revenue monitoring information to senior leadership and members. Oversee the preparation and review of working papers for the annual financial statements, acting as a key point of contact for internal and external audit. Identify financial risks and opportunities, implementing appropriate and timely responses. Contribute to the development and delivery of the organisation’s wider financial strategy.
Provide clear, robust financial advice to senior managers to support informed policy and strategic decisions. Act as a recognised technical expert, offering guidance and support across the wider organisation. Leadership & People Management Lead, manage and develop a small specialist team responsible for revenue accounting, budget monitoring and taxation activity. Support and oversee trainee accountants and apprentices, providing mentoring, training and constructive feedback in partnership with their people managers.

Indirect Taxation Ensure that VAT and other indirect taxation risks are proactively identified, assessed and managed, including those arising from system changes, new legislation and new projects.
Oversee the accurate and timely completion of indirect tax returns. Manage relationships with external taxation advisors, ensuring value is achieved and complex issues are resolved effectively. Develop organisational capability in this area through advice, guidance and training. In addition, you will be required to maintain up-to-date specialist knowledge of relevant legislation, regulation, national policy and professional guidance. Lead the development of internal policy relating to indirect taxation and provide support on wider financial and budget-related policy matters.
Represent the organisation at regional and national forums, building strong professional networks and sharing best practice. To succeed in this role, you will be a qualified accountant (CIPFA, ICA, ACCA or CIMA) with at least two years’ post-qualification experience. Substantial experience within a large or complex organisation, covering revenue accounting, financial planning and the interpretation of legislation.
