Purpose of Job

Within Debt Mobilisation Product Development (DM PD), the Principal Banker is responsible predominantly for coordinating DM‑led investor relations activities and all mobilisation‑related internal and external communications.

Accountabilities & Responsibilities
  • Deliver all activities outlined in the Bank’s mobilisation communications plan.
  • Maintain and regularly review the mobilisation communications plan in collaboration with the Communications department.
  • Review and update EBRD’s mobilisation narrative to ensure alignment with the Bank’s ambitions and share it with relevant internal stakeholders.
  • Draft, schedule and publish social media posts for both external and internal audiences.
  • Identify and propose high‑profile events (e.g., panel discussions, annual meetings, COP, Davos WEF) and deliver them with support from product leads and stakeholders.
  • Identify and source speaker opportunities for team members to represent EBRD Mobilisation at external events.
  • Manage internal communications activities, including maintenance of the Debt Mobilisation intranet page and distribution of intranet articles.
  • Prepare speaking notes or speeches for senior management and coordinate briefing notes covering key mobilisation updates.
External Engagement
  • Design, develop and implement an investor engagement and education plan, including engagement with investment consultants.
  • Build and maintain relationships with all investor groups to support their interest and engagement with EBRD co‑financing.
  • Design and deliver educational publications and events.
  • Act as lead coordinator for non‑deal or product‑specific engagement initiatives such as task forces, and develop new EBRD‑led initiatives to engage market participants.
  • Prepare integrated marketing materials for new private debt investors, ensuring they meet investor needs and include financial performance, impact and climate reporting standards.
  • Ensure these materials are used in all interactions with new and existing debt investors.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Support and, time permitting, lead new mobilisation product development initiatives.
  • Support other Product Development initiatives and the Sales & Advisory unit on deliverables as required.
  • Provide guidance on preparing internal approvals and related materials.
  • Collaborate with the head of Product Development on business development opportunities to attract new private debt investors.
  • Deputise for the head of Product Development as required.
  • Co‑coach, mentor and support junior team members.
  • Attend industry and mobilisation‑related events and conferences and meetings with government authorities, investors and business communities.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Relevant university degree;
    Master’s degree preferred or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English, with the ability to prepare a wide range of materials for different audiences.
  • Strong stakeholder communication skills.
  • Experience in organising compelling and well‑attended events.
  • Sound decision‑making with a focus on providing solutions, proven business judgement and high ethical and professional standards.
  • Fluency in another major language is desirable.
  • Experience in countries where the EBRD operates is desirable.
Experience & Knowledge
  • Awareness of the development finance agenda, especially private capital mobilisation; knowledge of climate finance and blended finance is beneficial.
  • Understanding of wider MDB activities and initiatives, particularly within mobilisation.
  • Familiarity with the investor universe, including different investor groups engaged for co‑financing.
  • Knowledge of MDB co‑financing activities across syndicated loans, leveraged finance, project finance, climate finance, structured products, credit asset management and insurance.
  • Banking or similar experience with a solid understanding of financial structures and financial statement interpretation.
  • Experience in driving non‑standard financial structures or initiatives through an institution to achieve formal support and approval.
