The UK iShares & Wealth (iSW) team is responsible for the sale of Black Rock’s range of Active, Alternative and Index funds and ETFs to the UK Asset and Wealth management market. The team is divided into five channels:
- Banks and Digital – Private Banks, Retail Banks and Digital Distributors
- Wealth – Private Client Investment Managers & Regional Wealth Managers
- National Advisors and Platforms – National, Networks, Consolidators and platforms
- Asset Managers – Multi asset and long‑only managers
- Manager Research – Fund selection units across 30 UK focus accounts
- The candidate will be responsible for prospecting, maintaining and further strengthening our key UK Wealth relationships. Success will be delivered through exceptional client service and a strong understanding of Black Rock’s products, solutions, and technology.
- The role requires an individual who can originate, co‑lead and close commercial opportunities, build trusted external relationships, and mobilise internal partners to deliver a superior client experience.
- The individual will also be required to manage and grow their own book of business, contributing to the wider team’s NNB and NNBF targets – Clients will include large desks within Wealth Management firms, as well as research responsibilities where appropriate.
- The individual will be required to proactively contribute to high level strategy, through developing and executing initiatives targeting new business, in addition to proactively defending assets under threat.
- Primary RM for assigned accounts, owning Investment Manager coverage, both senior and junior engagement, commercial/ pricing negotiations and issue resolution.
- Secondary RM on named strategic accounts, partnering with senior RMs to drive executive engagement, lead defined work streams (pricing, onboarding, product placements) and provide support where needed.
- Originate and convert opportunities with Wealth Manager desks and Model Portfolio Services. Trusted contact for day‑to‑day account management of these relationships.
- Build deep, multifaceted relationships with clients to broaden product penetration (Active, Index, ETFs, Alternatives, SMAs, Technology, Bespoke client solutions etc).
- Develop the partnership between the UK Wealth team and its internal Business stakeholders to improve delivery of operational projects and client service offering.
- Focus on evolving the distribution plan for Black Rock’s proprietary risk took, Portfolio 360.
- Broad understanding of EMEA regulatory landscape and input to high level strategy meetings.
- Strong project management skills required to ensure client projects are carried out efficiently and in a timely manner.
Engage directly with Black Rock senior leadership, owning meeting agendas and follow‑through for both owned and supported accounts. - Partner with internal product development teams to enhance Black Rock’s product range across EMEA and ensure existing products suit the investor landscape.
- Strong knowledge of the UK retail/wealth landscape, including fund selectors, platforms, and key consolidators.
- Proven sales and relationship management experience in the UK.
- Good research and data management skills.
- Student of the markets; credible on macro, asset allocation and portfolio construction.
- Organised, self‑motivated, flexible and inclusive team member who can lead or support cross‑functional deal teams.
- Firm understanding of the sales process—prospecting, qualification, solutioning, closing and long‑term account growth.
- Strong presentation skills.
