This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their career who is looking to develop hands‑on experience in credit risk, onboarding, compliance, and payments within a fast‑growing fintech environment.

Reporting to the Head of Underwriting & Credit Risk, you will play a key role in supporting the onboarding and ongoing account management of merchants within the Clear Accept regulated portfolio. You’ll work closely with Credit Risk Analysts and wider internal teams to ensure merchants are onboarded efficiently, data is accurately maintained, and risk issues are identified and escalated appropriately.

The role offers strong exposure across credit risk administration, transaction monitoring, regulatory reporting, and compliance, making it a great foundation for longer‑term progression within Risk, Compliance, or Financial Operations.

Key Accountabilities
  • Support the setup of new merchant accounts in line with onboarding processes, including in‑flight amendments and add‑ons
  • Co‑ordinate the collection and review of merchant documentation, resolving discrepancies to support timely onboarding
  • Work support tickets received via email or Jira from the Merchant Support / Helpdesk teams
  • Monitor and manage the Risk Mailbox, responding to queries and escalating issues where appropriate
  • Maintain and update merchant trackers, decision logs, pending applications, and weekly/monthly reports
  • Review incoming Credit Safe reports and flag potential risk events related to merchant activity
  • Maintain accurate credit records, documentation, and reporting
  • Support communication with merchants regarding account updates, requests for information, or actions taken
  • Assist in identifying trends in credit risk, fraud, or monitoring alerts, escalating findings where required
  • Provide ongoing administrative support to the wider Risk, Finance Operations, and Compliance teams
  • Support internal and external audits, regulatory requests, and ad‑hoc reporting as required
  • Maintain clear and up‑to‑date process and procedure documentation to support day‑to‑day operations
Required Skills & Experience
  • 1+ year experience in an administrative or operations role (payments, fintech, financial services, or regulated environment desirable)
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage data, documentation, and multiple work streams
  • Confident communicator, able to engage with internal and external stakeholders professionally
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Basic understanding of customer due diligence (CDD) and onboarding processes (or willingness to learn)
  • Comfortable working with Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Organised, methodical, and able to work independently while knowing when to elevate
Desirable Skills & Experience
  • Exposure to payments, acquiring, fintech, or risk/compliance environments
  • Experience working with Jira or ticketing systems
  • Interest in developing a career within Credit Risk, Compliance, or Financial Operations
  • Experience collaborating with product, technology, or development teams
