About

The Role

As a Payments Specialist at Equals Group, you will be working as part of a dedicated team to help support the international payment services that we provide to our customers. The role will involve ensuring all client payments are promptly and accurately processed through the various banks and counter parties that the group works with, as well as supporting the various customer‑facing teams within the business.

We will carry out individual interviews for shortlisted candidates and assess who is best suited for the role after we have discussed everything with you.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for processing client payment transactions in a timely manner, to meet cut-off times, and managing any exceptions
  • Processing payment returns in relation to non-accepted payments, received outside of business risk appetite
  • Setting up new beneficiary payment instructions
  • Ensuring all intra‑company treasury payments are processed and settled on time
  • Ensuring that processes and procedures relating to payments are adhered to
  • Working cooperatively with peers and other departments, keeping appropriate individuals informed at all times
  • Conducting root cause analysis and providing ongoing recommendations / solutions to improve processes and efficiencies
  • Undertaking any other reasonable duties/projects which may be required from time to time
Essential Skills
  • Attention to detail and an understanding of risk
  • Knowledge and practical experience of MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)
  • Good organisational and time management skills
  • Excellent telephone manner
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to work as part of a team
  • Numeracy and literacy skills
  • Practical experience of MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)
Desirable Skills
  • Previous relevant experience in a payments role / financial services environment
