The Tenant Management Organisation (TMO) Services Team within Hackney Council is looking for an experienced professional to work with our TMOs to deliver excellent services to their residents. Housing is a top priority in Hackney, this is a fantastic opportunity to develop your management skills as part of a small team that works closely with TMO staff and board members as well as with other departments and teams within Council.

Responsibilities
  • As one of our TMO Liaison Officers, you will provide strategic and operational support to existing TMOs in Hackney, and develop and maintain an effective client monitoring system.
  • You will advise on and monitor TMO governance, financial performance and service delivery.
  • You will also support and monitor the progress of residents’ groups that wish to become TMOs and provide expert advice to TMOs who wish to take on additional responsibilities.
Qualifications and skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to develop effective professional working relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to analyse and evaluate data, understand complex legislation and provide clear guidance and advice.
  • Capability to resolve complex issues or complaints.
  • Background in housing, governance, compliance or finance. Good understanding of, and a commitment to, social housing and resident involvement.
  • Familiar with a range of IT packages.
  • Attention to detail and a flexible approach; may involve time away from the desk working with TMOs and other departments.

  • The role may require some evenings and weekends.
  • You should be passionate about providing good quality housing services and keen to bring new ideas to improve internal systems and processes.
