The project scope includes planning, design, integration and delivery of major airfield infrastructure, buildings, systems and associated periphery infrastructure.
We are seeking a proactive and organised Environmental Coordinator to support the development of the Environmental Statement (ES) and wider environmental work streams required for a major infrastructure programme progressing through the UK's Development Consent Order (DCO) regime. Reporting directly to the Consents and EIA Manager, you will be a key member of the Environmental Assessment Team, helping to ensure that environmental data, documentation, commitments, and assessments are accurate, well coordinated, traceable, and compliant with planning requirements.
This role is ideally suited for an early career environmental professional eager to develop expertise in environmental assessment, infrastructure planning, and UK consenting processes.
Environmental Inputs to the DCO Application
- Assist in the preparation of environmental deliverables required for DCO submission, including technical assessments, environmental management plans, and supporting documentation.
- Consolidate inputs from designers, engineers, specialists, and consultants into well‑organised, audit‑ready records.
- Ensure assessments remain aligned with design changes, consultation feedback, new survey results, or regulator guidance.
Environmental Commitments Management
- Maintain and update commitments registers, mitigation trackers, and environmental requirements logs.
- Monitor outstanding commitments, ensuring they remain traceable and verifiable throughout the DCO lifecycle.
- Assist in converting DCO requirements into practical environmental controls and design inputs.
Regulator & Stakeholder Support
- Assist the Consents Manager with preparation of responses to statutory consultees, including environmental regulators, planning authorities, and nature conservation bodies.
- Prepare supporting notes, summaries, and evidence bundles for consultation events, meetings, and technical workshops.
- Maintain accurate engagement records for inclusion in the Consultation Report or Evidence Plan documentation.
- Degree in Environmental Science, Ecology, Environmental Engineering, or related discipline.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple inputs and maintain meticulous documentation.
- Good written communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear summaries and structured technical content.
- Understanding of environmental assessment processes (EIA/ESIA) and/or UK environmental legislation.
