Professional Quantity Surveying Service OfferingWe provide cost consultancy and quantity surveying services on a cross section of contracts within the residential and commercial sectors, with contract values between £1m and £40m (net). We also provide contract administration, project management, and lead consultant services, which overlap with the cost management and quantity surveying service areas of our business.
Our cost consultancy services currently comprise the following:
- Procurement advice and support
- Contract valuations and certification
- Change control and cost reporting
- Value engineering
- Final accounting
- Cashflow forecasting
- Dispute support
- Client liaison and team leadership/collaboration
We are seeking two experienced Senior Quantity Surveyors to join our Cost Consultancy team in central London. The role is office-based and will support a diverse portfolio of residential, commercial and refurbishment projects. You will lead commercial delivery across the project lifecycle, from pre-contract estimating and cost planning through procurement, contract administration and final accounts. The role suits a pragmatic, commercially minded professional who can combine technical rigour with strong stakeholder engagement.
The role will include ensuring that our clients’ stated objectives are achieved through dynamic teamwork, overt leadership, proactive cost control and intelligent contractual advice. Other core areas of contribution will include assisting with the production of feasibility studies, writing procurement reports, providing estimating and cost-planning advice, and producing and presenting final cost plans.
The successful candidate will be expected to take responsibility for carrying out cost checks, analyses, and valuations on larger projects and, in all cases, ensuring that timely and accurate cost checks and valuations are conducted. Producing monthly post-contract cost reports and presenting them to the client will also be expected.
Other areas of service provision include value engineering, negotiating and agreeing final accounts, regular interfacing with the client and other consultants, at all project stages, and, where appropriate, leading a cost management team and providing mentoring support to junior staff.
In summary, the key responsibilities will include the following:
- Pre-contract estimating and cost planning for schemes across residential, commercial and refurbishment sectors.
- Procurement support, including tender documentation, evaluation and contractor appointment.
- Contract administration under standard forms, managing notices, variations and contractual correspondence.
- Interim valuations and final accounts preparation, certification and negotiation.
- Change control and cost reporting to track variations, forecast outturns and advise clients.
- Dispute support providing factual analysis, records and commercial input to resolve claims.
