Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager specialising in structured cabling to lead the end‑to‑end delivery of data cabling infrastructure projects across the UK & EMEA regions.

This role combines business development, technical solution design, bid management, and full project lifecycle ownership, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest industry standards.

The successful candidate will play a key role in growing the business by identifying and developing new project opportunities while maintaining exceptional service delivery for existing clients.

Responsibilities Business Development
  • Identify and develop new project opportunities within existing accounts and with new clients across commercial, data centre, education, healthcare, and public sector markets.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships to drive repeat business.
  • Attend client meetings, site surveys, and industry events to promote company capabilities.
  • Support the preparation of capability statements, case studies, and presentations.
  • Contribute to sales strategy and pipeline development.
Solution Design & Bid Management
  • Lead the technical solutioning of structured cabling projects, including copper, fibre, containment, and associated infrastructure.
  • Conduct site surveys and develop detailed bill of materials & scopes of work.
  • Prepare accurate cost estimates, programmes, and risk assessments.
  • Compile high‑quality, detailed bid submissions including technical proposals, methodologies, and compliance documentation.
  • Ensure bids comply with industry standards:
  • BSI Group standards (e.g., BS EN 50173, BS 6701)
  • ISO frameworks (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 45001, ISO 14001 where applicable)
  • Support post‑tender clarifications and negotiations.
Project Delivery
  • Take full ownership of structured cabling projects from award through to handover and final account.
  • Develop and manage detailed project plans, resource allocations, and procurement schedules.
  • Ensure adherence to:
  • Company internal standards and processes
  • Industry structured cabling standards
  • Manufacturer installation guidelines and warranty requirements
  • Manage subcontractors, site supervisors, engineers, and suppliers.
  • Chair project meetings and provide regular progress updates to clients and stakeholders.
  • Oversee testing, commissioning, documentation, and handover packs.
QHSE Management
  • Develop project‑specific Quality, Health, Safety & Environmental (QHSE) plans.
  • Ensure compliance with:
    • Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974
    • CDM Regulations 2015
    • Conduct risk assessments and method statements (RAMS).
    • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure safe systems of work are implemented and monitored.
    • Carry out site audits and ensure corrective actions are closed out.
    • Ensure all project documentation is maintained and auditable.
Financial and Commercial Management
  • Full P&L responsibility for allocated projects.
  • Prepare and manage project budgets, forecasts, and cost tracking.
  • Monitor margins and identify commercial risks and opportunities.
  • Manage variations, change control, and contractual compliance.
  • Submit accurate financial reporting to senior management.
  • Lead final account negotiations and ensure timely invoicing and cash collection.
Pre‑Requisites and Experience
  • Minimum 10 years' experience within the structured cabling industry.
  • Demonstrable experience managing structured cabling projects end‑to‑end.
