Lead Team Technician

Selhurst Engineering Depot are looking for a highly skilled Lead Team Technician to elevate the technical capability, consistency, and professional standards across our engineering team. This is a new but influential role designed for someone who thrives on shaping engineering excellence, mentoring diverse technical teams, and driving continuous improvement across multiple engineering grades.

You'll be setting the bar for best practice, guiding engineers through complex challenges, and ensuring our engineering standard continues to grow.

This role offers a highly flexible roster, giving the right candidate the ability to balance hands on technical skill with mentoring and influence in a way that suits all parties.

If you have the following skills & experience, this may be the next position for you.

• Have served an apprenticeship or equivalent, supported by appropriate technical studies.
• Have a proven fault-finding track record on rolling stock.
• Have sound knowledge of railway operating and safety standards, rules and instructions.
• Have a good knowledge of Depot Health and safety requirements.
• Good communication skills are required both verbal and written.
• Strong Motivator
• Ability to proactively look for opportunities to lead improvement.
• Able to assist in solving technical issue in a limited time scale.
• Self-motivated and able to react to a range of situations.
• Able to mentor, train, and coach all levels of engineering staff.
• A Full UK driving licence is required for this role to attend failed rolling stock where required.
