Why Join the Community of Switchers? As one of the top three nuclear engineering companies globally, Assystem offers opportunities to work on significant nuclear projects. You’ll work alongside industry-leading experts in your future team, supporting the development of vital energy infrastructure that will power the United Kingdom for decades to come. Join our community and be part of a team that’s shaping the future of clean energy, while benefiting from a dynamic, collaborative work environment.
The BIM Lead will work on all engineering data in close collaboration with the Data & Information Management (D&IM) team. The BIM Lead will be the engineering focal point for the strategic vision of engineering use cases for BIM, and will be responsible for ensuring that data requested meets the required standard to be used as a trusted source of information to de-risk programmes.
One of the key drivers behind the ambition to go “digital by default” is to meet the UK Information Management Mandate, previously known as the BIM Mandate. The next nuclear power stations, such as Sizewell C, will be constructed over the next decade and operated for many years. Over this period, construction and operations will be transformed by a more digital enterprise, including paperless construction, automated data-led decision making and operational digital twins.

- Bring diverse stakeholders both internally and within the supply chain to a common and agreed goal
- Support the development of an inclusive and agreed vision, strategy and roadmap for BIM (led by the D&IM team)
- Develop and deliver training where required on BIM topics
- Act as the main contact on BIM topics across all domains (Civils, MEH, Equipment) in a nuclear project setting
- Manage the BIM workload within the team (utilising the capacity and knowledge of the team, as well as influencing the counterpart teams to progress work)
- Manage and report on critical KPIs and workload within the team
- Pragmatically raise risk and opportunities as appropriate

19650 and other relevant international standards relating to data delivery, including familiarity with the creation of a Common Data Environment (CDE), EIRs, and BIM Execution Plans (BEPs) - A thorough understanding of data, information management, BIM agendas within the UK and the standards and documents for implementation in engineering
- Detailed understanding of the key elements of PAS/BS 1192, ISO 9001 and ISO 19650
- A good understanding of areas for improvement from previous capital nuclear projects (e.g. Olkiluoto 3, Flamanville 3, Hinkley Point
C) - A good understanding of the diversity of a capital project delivery organisation (differing maturity supply chain in both engagement stage and digital maturity)
- Full understanding of the complex needs of an engineering organisation (e.g. 3D model standards, Configuration…
