Job Description
This is a hybrid role, with occasional visits to Sizewell C in Suffolk
The Ancillary Works Civil Engineering Lead holds accountability for technical definition and validation across the Ancillary Civil Works scope. The role leads governance of design change, technical open points, and integration across programme interfaces. It ensures alignment between design intent, construction methodology, contract requirements and programme milestones.
- Define and validate technical requirements with Design Authority
- Lead multidisciplinary civil design coordination across programme scopes
- Provide robust technical input to Early Warnings and Compensation Events
- Manage technical open points and engineering change processes
- Ensure compliance with governance frameworks and engineering procedures
- Integrate construction methodologies into technical requirements
- Undertake surveillance activities and maintain active risk registers
- Coordinate technical interfaces across Site Establishment and Offsite Infrastructure
- Support Design Technical Assurance and digital assurance reviews
- Align design deliverables with contract schedules and integrated work plans
Nuclear experience is not essential
, but is of course welcome. If you have worked within a highly regulated environment, your skills and approach are highly transferable and of strong interest to us.

- Honours degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
- Chartered Engineer MICE or MIStruct
E, or working towards - Experience in reinforced concrete and steel structures
- Ground engineering including earthworks, drainage and foundations
- Multi-disciplinary design management across complex programmes
- Strong knowledge of British Standards and UK design codes
- Understanding of RIBA Plan of Work 2013 processes
- Experience with in regulated, high assurance environments
- Familiarity with NEC contracts and engineering documentation systems
- Large infrastructure or nuclear project experience desirable
