Location: Greater London

We are seeking a System Test Engineer to lead Verification & Validation (V&V) activities within a dynamic L-Band Centre of Excellence team based in London. This role is pivotal in ensuring that new products entering the global L-band portfolio meet all applicable requirements and regulatory standards.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will take ownership of system verification and validation activities required to bring innovative products to market. You’ll develop, execute, and report on comprehensive test programmes covering regulatory compliance, satellite operator approvals, and product performance requirements.

This is an exciting opportunity to work within an interdisciplinary environment alongside engineering, QA, production teams, project managers, and international colleagues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the full verification and validation lifecycle for new product developments
  • Lead integration testing activities for products under development
  • Develop and execute detailed test plans, procedures, and reports
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and satellite operator approvals
  • Collaborate closely with development teams to refine test strategies and improve product quality
  • Provide Design for Test (DfT) and V&V input during product definition and development phases
  • Coordinate compliance and specialist testing with third-party laboratories
  • Maintain high standards of documentation and reporting
  • Conduct Root Cause Analysis for development and field issues
  • Provide training and technical support where required
  • Integration and block testing of incremental software and hardware releases
  • Authoring test documentation (plans, procedures, reports)
  • Strong debugging, failure analysis, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Understanding of EMI/EMC principles and measurement methods
  • Experience with regulatory compliance testing (e.g. ETSI, FCC, EU Directives)
  • Proficiency in Python for test equipment control, automation, and data analysis
  • Satellite or wireless communication terminal experience
  • Hands‑on experience with RF and electronic test equipment (Spectrum Analysers, VNAs, Power Meters, Oscilloscopes, etc.)
  • Experience with work management and bug tracking tools (e.g. Jira)
  • Type approvals and homologation experience
  • Experience running field or customer trials
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in RF, Electronic, or Electrical Engineering (or related discipline), or equivalent professional experience
