The Opportunity Step into the world of mission‑critical engineering. We are seeking a skilled and motivated Shift Engineer to join a forward‑thinking team supporting a high‑availability data centre environment. This role offers the opportunity to work with cutting‑edge infrastructure while building a clear, long‑term engineering career within critical facilities.

You will play a key role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of electrical, mechanical, and HVAC systems that support 24/7 critical operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate, monitor, and maintain LV/MV electrical systems, mechanical plant, HVAC, UPS, and generators
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve faults to maintain maximum system uptime
  • Complete Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance tasks
  • Carry out authorised high‑and low‑voltage switching in line with Safe Systems of Work
  • Supervise subcontractors, ensuring full compliance with health & safety and operational standards
  • Monitor systems and manage faults using BMS, PMS, and CMS platforms
What We’re Looking For
  • Completed engineering apprenticeship or equivalent technical qualification
  • Proven experience within critical facilities, data centres, or other high‑pressure environments
  • Strong technical knowledge of electrical systems, HVAC, and building services
  • A confident problem‑solver with strong communication and teamwork skills
  • NCC, REC, or equivalent certifications (desirable but not essential)
