** North Pole Train Maintenance Centre
** in London.
** Salary: £43,375  15% Shift allowance****£6000 Location allowance  Permanent Contract
**** Accountabilities
* * In this exciting role you will operate and maintain the wheel lathe and carry out associated activities that support the operations of the wheel lathe. This is a permanent role working on a rotating shift basis.

Specifically, you will be responsible for the following deliverables:
* Maintain the condition of the work site, materials and equipment.
* Support health and safety practices in the workplace.
* Prepare for and undertake planned maintenance on the wheel lathe & ancillary equipment.
* Carryout wheel turning for Hitachi and third party rolling stock.
* Post operation checks and adjustments.
* Confirm that traction and rolling stock assets comply with operational specifications.
* Provide operational support to fleet staff if lathe duties permit.
* Develop professionally and support good working relationships.
* Learn new skills in accordance with Hitachi’s new business demands as required.
* Liaison with Hitachi and external personnel as required to complete the duties of the post.
** About you
**** Required Skills/ Knowledge
*** Milling/Turning/CNC or similar experience.
* Sound knowledge of, and compliance to, rules and regulations
* Good written and verbal communication skills
** Education/Qualifications
*** M & E ONC or served apprenticeship with mechanical, electrical disciplines
* Engineering based NVQ level 3 or 2
** Behavioural
* ** Calm and diplomatic under pressure.
* Loyal, committed, confident and determined.
* Good team worker
* Able to represent Hitachi in a professional manner at all times
** Desired Skills (not essential)
*** Intermediate IT skills – typically Word, Excel
* Milling/Turning/CNC or similar experience.
* Network Rail Sentinel PTS
* Depot driving and shunting.
* Wheel Lathe operations & maintenance
