We are now seeking a Project Quality Manager to lead the quality function on our Letchmore Heath Substation project – a role central to ensuring safe, compliant, right‑first‑time delivery.

As Project Quality Manager
, you will champion quality across the project, ensuring the effective implementation of our ISO 9001 & BS 99001 certified Quality Management System and embedding industry‑leading quality practices into everyday delivery.

You will:

• Lead the development and maintenance of the Project Quality Plan (PQP).
• Provide specialist support on quality deliverables including ITPs, Work Procedures, and Material Approval processes.
• Conduct regular site engagement to oversee the quality of works, using your authority to pause activities where needed.
• Ensure progressive assurance, golden‑thread documentation, and digital quality compliance through platforms such as Field View and Asite
  .
• Manage NCRs, support root‑cause investigations, and drive continuous improvement across the project.
• Lead the project handover strategy and support O&M documentation.
• Build strong relationships with the client, supply chain, and internal teams—ensuring customer requirements are understood, met, and exceeded.
• Coach teams, uplift capability, and help embed a proactive quality culture.

The Letchmore Heath Substation project is a key strategic asset in the UK energy network. Joining at this stage means you will play an influential role in shaping its delivery and supporting national low‑carbon and resilience targets.

Experience working on National Grid projects or with National Grid processes is highly desirable
, as this knowledge will support seamless integration with client expectations and regulatory frameworks.

• 10+ years' experience across quality governance, assurance, compliance, and improvement.
• Strong understanding of ISO 9001:2015, BS 99001, and high‑assurance sector requirements (Energy, Rail, Nuclear, etc.).
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills across multi‑disciplinary environments.
• Ability to lead, influence, prioritise, and drive improvement in complex project settings.
• Confident working with digital assurance platforms (e.g., Field View, Asite, Trimble).
• Auditor qualifications (Internal or Lead) and/or CQI membership—desirable but not essential.
