The Company
Our client is a well-established and highly regarded specialist contractor, delivering complex civil engineering, demolition, piling, and construction projects across London and the South East. With a reputation for technical excellence and innovation, they are seeking to strengthen their team with the addition of a Health & Safety Advisor to support ongoing growth.
The Role
As Health & Safety Advisor, you will play a key role in promoting a positive safety culture across multiple live projects. You will support project teams in maintaining the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance, ensuring a safe and efficient working environment across a diverse portfolio of projects, from enabling works and demolition through to major civil engineering and construction.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct regular site inspections and audits, providing practical advice and support to site teams
* Ensure compliance with UK H&S legislation, company policies, and industry best practice
* Assist in the preparation and review of RAMS, CPPs, and other H&S documentation
* Deliver toolbox talks, inductions, and training sessions to promote best practice
* Investigate and report on incidents, near misses, and accidents, identifying root causes and corrective actions
* Work closely with project managers and supervisors to embed a proactive safety culture
* Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across HSE management systems
Candidate Profile
* NEBOSH Construction Certificate (essential) or equivalent H&S qualification
* Membership of IOSH (TechIOSH minimum; working towards GradIOSH desirable)
* Experience in a construction / civil engineering / demolition environment (contractor-side preferred)
* Strong communication skills with the ability to engage site teams and senior stakeholders alike
* Proactive, practical approach with a genuine passion for promoting health and safety
* Flexible to travel across London and the South East for site coverage
