As part of HDR’s Building Engineering Services Group, you’ll help design the critical infrastructure that supports the digital age and shapes the spaces where people work, connect, and thrive. From high-performance data centers driving the future of AI to dynamic commercial environments, your work will directly support technological advancement, sustainability, and human experience. We bring together mechanical, electrical, structural, and civil engineering experts to solve complex design challenges with precision, creativity, and collaboration.

We are looking for someone who is a personable self‑starter with the ability to project a positive ‘can do’ professional attitude at all times maintaining good working relationships. Someone who enjoys working collaboratively across disciplines being able to establish excellent working rapport within the team, business and with clients, with the ability to handle a varied workload and keep to tight deadlines.

• Assist Senior Engineers with detailed design tasks and drawing production.
• Develop an understanding of the different building materials and techniques employed in design.
• Carry out detailed design calculations and develop a full understanding of computer design packages.
• Maintain a Continuing Professional Development diary to assist in obtaining appropriate qualifications.
• Develop an understanding of appropriate Legislation Standards, Building Regulations, and Codes of Practice.
• Learn and understand design techniques and develop awareness of other design disciplines.
• Maintain a training Log on a daily basis, recording achievements and experience.
• Attend appropriate and relevant site visits and meetings as and where applicable to the role or the project.
• Attend relevant training as required by the practice to achieve Chartered status.
• Attend and arrange Lunch time CPD’s and Knowledge Sharing sessions.
• Assist in maintaining QA systems on projects.

• Studying towards a Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services or equivalent, Masters is desired but not essential.
• Proficiency in MS Office and AutoCAD.
• An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee‑owned culture is a must.
