Overview
Cable Installation Engineer for a major Offshore Wind Project based in The UK.
Responsibilities- Lead the technical definition evaluation, planning, reporting and interfacing of the transport and installation activities for the cables (inter‑array or export cables), including load‑out operations, transportation and installation of components, including handover(s), in compliance with industry and company standards, and Health, Safety and Environment regulations and guidelines.
- Write, negotiate and execute technical chapters of the installation tender and contract and of other related transport and installation contracts.
- Installation Engineering – confirm method statements, risk assessments, lift plans, safety procedures, permits to work and related documents for all loading, transportation and offshore work are in place and accepted by all relevant parties.
- Engineering background with strong knowledge in submarine cable design, cable fabrication, layout and design of offshore cable decks, cable pull‑in operations, seabed assessment and preparation, offshore cable laying and cable protection, and termination and HV testing procedures.
- Significant experience in the offshore wind industry (5+ years).
- Significant and in‑depth experience in project management of offshore submarine cables in either the Offshore Wind Energy industry, Submarine Telecommunications or Oil & Gas.
