Overview

Senior Consultant - Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA)

Salary: £39,000 - £60,000 per annum + generous benefits. UK Wide.

Our client is one of the UK's most respected and award winning independent environmental consultancies with an amazing work culture. The team has a strong reputation for delivering Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) for complex projects across multiple sectors, particularly onshore renewable energy and energy infrastructure.

Due to a very busy pipeline of projects, they are seeking a Senior / Principal EIA consultant to join the established environmental planning division.

Opportunity

You will manage EIA projects from tender stage through to submission, working closely with project directors and coordinating multidisciplinary internal specialists (including ecology, ornithology, archaeology and landscape) alongside external consultants and high-profile clients. Projects span renewable energy, electricity transmission, urban regeneration, master planning and independent EIA/Environmental Statement reviews.

You will be supported through mentoring, training and professional development, with opportunities to progress your EIA career and professional memberships (ISEP/RTPI).

Location & Working Pattern

Based in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Manchester, Bristol or Cardiff, with hybrid working (minimum two days per week in the office). Site and client travel will be required. My client will also consider applicants who are looking for part time employment too.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and coordinate the EIA process and technical teams
  • Lead stakeholder engagement and consultation
  • Oversee quality, programme and budget delivery
  • Contribute to tenders and client relationships
Essential Requirements
  • Proven experience managing EIAs
  • Degree in a relevant environmental discipline
  • Strong organisational, communication and report-writing skills
  • Understanding of EIA within the development planning process
Desirable
  • Experience on large or complex infrastructure projects
  • Postgraduate EIA qualification
  • Progress towards Chartered membership (ISEP/RTPI)
  • Working knowledge of GIS and environmental topics such as landscape, biodiversity or water resources

This is an exciting opportunity to join a values-led consultancy shaping sustainable development across the UK.

The post includes an excellent base salary, generous benefits and team bonuses.
