The role
Supporting junior members of the team to learn and deliver projects collaboratively
Helping develops multi-modal access strategies and designs for all kinds of developments and public sector transport projects
Develop initial concept / feasibility studies for large masterplan sites
Undertaking technical assessments and analysis across a wide range of transport related subjects
Preparing technical notes and reports, Transport Assessments, Travel Plans, Delivery and Service Plans and other assessments
Playing an active role in the transport related aspects of building and development design
Attending meetings with clients, architects and planning authorities
What you need to succeed
At least 6 years’ experience working in in the transport planning field
Knowledge of the planning system and transport-related matters, including Transport Assessments, Travel Plans, and Environmental Statements
A practical knowledge of relevant cycling/walking design standards, highway standards and building design guidelines
Experience of using tools to design elements of the built environment, preferably AutoCAD and other associated Autodesk design software (such as Auto Track) desirable
Experience of preparing robust, visually engaging supporting material using a range of graphics software
Good writing and numeracy skills
An understanding and skills in pedestrian and highway capacity modelling, preferably some use of PICADY, ARCADY, LinSIG
Interpersonal skills required to communicate effectively and professionally with the design team, clients, key stakeholders and contractors
Accuracy and attention to detail with ability to work within deadlines
Proficiency in using Microsoft Office, including Excel
