Main Responsibilities:
As a surveyor you will be expected to form a holistic view of each project, gathering information and conducting research, completing due‑diligence reviews, and utilising findings within advice and reporting. Written and verbal communication should be of a high standard. Advice and mitigation strategies should be developed with Director input to foster dialogue and broaden your experience and skill set.
- Be the main client contact / project lead on small projects.
- Assist senior members of the surveying team including Senior Surveyor, Associate Surveyor, Associate Director and Director on rights of light, daylight and sunlight matters.
- Manage project delivery through liaison with the surveying team, Director, clients, design team, external consultants and in‑house resources.
- Conduct detailed site research, photos, VOA, land registry to make informed decisions regarding due‑diligence level based on the developing risk profile of each project.
- Review legal documents/deeds and identify relevant considerations, seeking Director input and deferring to legal advisors where appropriate.
- Deliver on client and Director expectations through effective communication and high‑quality delivery.
As a Senior Surveyor you will run a number of projects independently while assisting the Directors on more complex issues. You will manage your own time, resources, budgets and invoicing to ensure projects are completed successfully and within projected costs and profitability.

- Conduct detailed site research, photos, VOA, land registry to make informed decisions regarding due‑diligence level.
- Review legal documents/deeds and give appropriately caveated opinions; defer to legal advisors where necessary.
- Deliver on client expectations through effective communication, high quality delivery and commercial management.
- Provide high quality oral and written advice based on client scope and commercial requirements, demonstrating an informed understanding of client needs.
- Delegate tasks internally and liaise with colleagues to ensure appropriate resource allocation and delivery in line with programme and cost targets.
As an Associate Surveyor you will have a high level of expertise in relevant industry specialism, displaying breadth and depth of understanding in your practice areas. You will aim to meet commercial targets and undertake additional responsibilities within the wider business, driving quality and improvement throughout the work.

- Allocate appropriate resources to deliver projects on time and within budget.
- Deliver on client expectations through highest quality delivery and commercial management.
- Provide highest quality oral and written advice based on client scope and commercial requirements, demonstrating an informed understanding of client needs.
- Undertake or direct site research, photos, VOA, land registry and make informed decisions.
- Building, Property or Legal related degree or studying towards property related conversion or specialist courses plus CPD & market experience.
- Understanding of property development process and market.
- Understanding of the UK planning system.
- Understanding of the UK legal system.
- Good understanding of daylight/sunlight guidance, policy and best practice.
- Good understanding of rights of light law, developing precedent and best practice.
- Developing knowledge of interrelationship with Party Walls and other Building Surveying disciplines.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Good verbal and written communication.
- Self‑motivated and ambitious.
- Both independent and able to work as part of a team.
- A keen eye for detail.
- Problem solving and lateral thinking.
- Focus on client care – identifying client requirements and delivering advice in line with best practice and the company approach.
