About the RoleAs a Structural Engineer
, you will collaborate with various engineering teams to create detailed designs, plans, and specifications from concept to completion. You will support project managers by undertaking tasks on a wide range of projects, including but not limited to data centers, commercial/corporate offices, finance, education, hotels & leisure, and mixed-use developments.
We are looking for someone who is passionate about structural engineering, thrives on complex challenges, enjoys creative collaboration, and works on projects that make an impact. You should be a personable self-starter with the ability to project a positive, professional attitude at all times, maintaining good working relationships. You should enjoy working collaboratively across disciplines and be able to establish excellent working rapport within the team, with the business, and with clients.
Responsibilities- Design structural elements for exciting projects
- Create models and calculations using analysis tools such as Tekla and ETABS
- Liaise with design teams to produce coordinated designs that are technically compliant to consistent quality and standards
- Undertake structural survey works and produce reports for the same
- Bring innovative thinking to complex engineering problems
- Minimum 3 years of industry experience in structural design within a design consultancy (experience on data center projects is highly advantageous)
- Ability to interrogate/use computer modelling (Revit), organize and direct production of structural CAD drawings and Revit models, and communicate effectively with other consultants
- Software experience in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, RISA, Staad, SAP, Tedds, RAM, ETABS, SAFE or similar (desirable but not essential)
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
- Previous structural engineer experience
- Previous experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm
- An attitude and commitment to being an active participant in our employee-owned culture
