Mechanical Engineer

The Best Connection are currently recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join a well-established client based in the Wallington area. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled engineer looking for stable, full-time work within a supportive and technical environment.

• Monday to Friday

• 8:30am - 5:30pm

• 30-minute unpaid lunch break

• £12.50 per hour and above, dependent on experience

As a Mechanical Engineer, your duties will include but are not limited to:

• Hand placement of surface mount devices (SMD), including small components down to 0402 size

• Reworking SMD and through-hole PCBs by hand

• Diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs using schematics

• Hand soldering of surface-mount and through-hole components

• Testing products using standard test equipment, including multimeters and oscilloscopes

• Programming and testing products (full training will be provided where required)

• Proven experience working in an engineering or electronics-based role

• Strong experience with SMD placement and rework

• Confident fault-finding and diagnostic skills

• Ability to read and understand schematics

• A methodical approach with strong attention to detail

• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently as well as part of a team

• PPE provided where required
