Senior Motorsport Design Engineer

My client, a renowned motor sport team at the forefront of global motor sport requires a Senior Motorsport Design Engineer to join its top class team to work on whole‑car design projects.

Responsibilities :

Design advanced models and drawings of a variety of car components and chassis design.

Verification of designs through own calculations, analysis and CAE.

Ensuring the success of the design from inception through to production.

Liaise with the Chief Designer and Engineers to improve and confirm the design to achieve maximum car performance, reliability and durability.

Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including engineering, manufacturing, build, and procurement.

Use theoretical knowledge of material science and mechanical engineering to resolve difficult problems.

Assist the Chief Designer in supporting and mentoring Junior Designers.

Requirements :

• Educated to MEng or BEng degree level in Motorsport, Automotive or Mechanical Engineering.

Proven experience (a minimum of 4 years +) as a mechanical design engineer in the motor sport or high performance automotive sectors.

Previous design experience in suspension, brakes, steering and chassis structure.

Proficient in 3D CAD, preferably CATIA V5.

Solid understanding the latest manufacturing techniques and materials.

Meticulous attention to detail and a practical approach to problem solving.
