Operations Manager - Lean Manufacturing & Continuous Improvement

Mon‑Fri, 7 am‑5 pm (early finish on Friday)

Our client is a leading engineering manufacturing company offering niche and innovative products to a global engineering market. They are experiencing sustained growth andരോ looking for an Operations Manager / General Manager to join their Gillingham site. Reporting to the MD, you will be a key member of the leadership team, driving performance through close management of processes and methods.

• Organise and manage around 60 staff across toolroom, maintenance, quality, production and warehousing at two sites.
• Lead engineering, health & safety and quality programmes.
• Actively contribute ideas that improve process safety and efficiency.
• Analyse daily operational data to ensure short‑ and long‑term KPIs are met.
• Manage stock control and work with sales to meet production throughput to customer demand.
• Implement and manage preventative maintenance programmes.

• Ensure end‑product compliance and the personal development of shop‑floor personnel.
• Directly involved in quality management systems and audits.
• Drive a culture of excellence across the business.

• Background in manufacturing or Likely engineering environment, or relevant qualifications.

  Ability to actively input into engineering projects.
• Proficiency in improving manufacturing processes using Lean or Kaizen techniques.
• Track record managing stock levels through efficient planning and control.
• Project management experience.

  Knowledge and experience managing an ERP system.
