An outstanding opportunity has opened for a Senior Fire Engineer to join a respected UK consultancy known for delivering innovative fire safety solutions across complex, high-profile projects. This forward-thinking firm is expanding its London team and is looking for a technically capable and ambitious Senior Fire Engineer to take ownership of challenging schemes across a wide variety of sectors.
The Senior Fire Engineer will lead the development of performance-based fire strategies, working collaboratively with architects, project managers, and stakeholders to ensure safety and compliance without compromising design integrity. With access to industry-leading tools and true flexibility in working style, this is a rare chance for a Senior Fire Engineer to shape landmark projects while progressing professionally.
The Senior Fire Engineer’s Role- Develop and deliver robust fire strategies from concept to handover
- Apply Approved Document B, BS 9999, BS 9991 and the Building Safety Act in project work
- Undertake advanced fire engineering calculations and performance-based design
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary design teams and attend client meetings
- Lead site inspections, technical reviews, and design appraisals
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to internal technical development
- Support fee proposals and project management on major schemes
- Degree in Fire Engineering or a related discipline
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a fire consultancy or engineering role
- Strong working knowledge of UK fire codes and standards
- Skilled in preparing clear and detailed fire strategy reports
- Experience with CFD modelling software (e.g. Pyro Sim, Pathfinder) beneficial
- Chartered or actively working towards MIFireE or CEng status
- Confident communicator with a solution-focused mindset
- £60,000 – £75,000 salary
