SCADA Engineer

Equans is a renowned energies & services contractor and a proud member of the Bouygues global industrial group. Our expertise spans the design, construction and maintenance of buildings and critical infrastructure worldwide.

As a SCADA Engineer you will help us drive renewable energy innovation across solar farm projects, microgrids and district heating networks. Based in Welwyn, Cambridge or Central London you will play a pivotal role in ensuring seamless integration and performance for the projects.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the handover of projects to clients, coordinatinghna activities and managing documentation quality.
  • Review contractual Employer’s Requirements and specifications to inform system design.
  • Collaborate with the Procurement team, guiding sourcing solutions.
  • Define and review SCADA system architecture, coordinating interfaces with subsystems such as DNO, customer substations, SCADA suppliers and PPC suppliers.
  • Design and define communication systems architecture, coordinating interfaces with LAN, cybersecurity and bandwidth requirements.
  • Prepare detailed design documents, including communication and signals matrices, calculation notes, signal lists, IP mapping, external gateway signal lists, cable connection schedules and block diagrams.
  • Assist on‑site activities related to monitoring equipment and SCADA system implementation, commissioning and operation.
  • Ensure strict adherence to contractual requirements and project success.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Electrical engineering degree or diploma.
  • Experience developing proposals from complex customer specifications.
  • Knowledge of control panel design.
  • Strong communication skills and liaison with multidisciplinary teams and clients.
  • IT proficiency, especially MS Excel.
  • Willingness to embrace a flexible working culture; transferable skills considered.
