SCADA Modelling Engineer

Location: South East London

SCADA Modelling Engineer / Power Systems We are urgently searching for experienced SCADA Modelling Engineers for opportunities across the UK, Ireland, and mainland Europe. These roles sit within a large-scale grid modernisation and digital transformation programme, supporting critical national infrastructure. These positions are well remunerated, reflecting the acute shortage of engineers who genuinely understand SCADA, EMS, ADMS, and electrical network data modelling.

If your experience is theoretical or tool-adjacent only, this role will not be a fit. The Opportunity You will be responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of electrical transmission and distribution network models used within real-time SCADA, EMS, and ADMS environments. This is hands-on engineering work, not documentation theatre. You will work closely with utilities, DNOs, TSOs, and system integrators delivering operational technology platforms that actually run the grid.

Key Responsibilities Design and develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models supporting electrical transmission and distribution networks Build and maintain EMS/DMS electrical network models for real-time and operational systems Configure and customise SCADA, EMS, and ADMS platforms, including model validation and integration Work with Single Line Diagrams (SLDs) to accurately represent system topology and connectivity Develop and optimise SQL-based data models supporting EMS/DMS applications Support Display Builder configuration for EMS and AEMS applications Collaborate with utilities, ISOs, DNOs, and TSOs to deliver production-ready operational models Required Experience 5 years experience in electrical network data modelling (transmission and/or distribution) Proven experience creating electrical data models for EMS/DMS applications Strong understanding of electrical transmission and distribution networks Hands-on experience with EMS/ADMS modelling tools, specifically eTerra Habitat Proficiency in SQL, with experience using Oracle 19c or later Experience working with Display Builder for EMS and AEMS environments Solid understanding of electrical SLDs (Single Line Diagrams) Ideal Background Electrical Engineer or Power Systems Engineer by training Experience working with DNOs, TSOs, ISOs, or large utilities Strong understanding of system topology, telemetry, fault conditions, and network control environments Comfortable operating in SCADA-driven, real-time operational systems, not sandbox environments Additional Information No sponsorship available Must be based in the EU Long-term, high-impact work on critical national infrastructure If you have genuine SCADA modelling experience and want to work on systems that keep the lights on, apply with an up-to-date CV.
