About Fether Labs: ⌚🤚🤖⚡
Fether Labs is building wristbands that turn gestures into commands. Our proprietary sensor technology, invented at Imperial College London, offers a natural, precise, and expansive set of interactions beyond standard electrodes or IMUs.
As a key member of our hardware team, you will design and fabricate prototypes, contribute to R&D, source components, and support technical demonstrations. The role is open to talented graduates and professionals alike.
Key Responsibilities- Build, assemble, and test wearable prototypes to rigorous standards.
- Lead in‑house fabrication using 3D printers (FDM/SLA) and related equipment.
- Collaborate on electronics, mechanical, and industrial design of our wearable device.
- Design and build test fixtures.
- Manage component sourcing and liaise with manufacturing partners.
- Assist with technical demonstrations and partner collaborations, occasionally abroad.
- Apply solid theoretical knowledge in mechanical engineering, industrial design, or electronics.
- Show proven prototyping/fabrication experience (university, personal projects, or previous roles).
- Demonstrate high dexterity for hand fabrication (mechanical assembly & fine‑pitch soldering).
- Adapt to work on different areas within a fast‑growth startup.
- Maintain focus and motivation in a deadline‑driven environment.
- Be within commuting distance of Hammersmith.
- Provide a portfolio of personal or professional engineering projects (images/links).
