Mechanical Design Engineer

Location: West London

Term: Permanent

Salary: GBP 30,000 – 50,000 per annum, dependent on experience

• 3-5+ years' experience in a similar Mechanical Design position
• Degree / HNC / HND / BTEC / NVQ qualified in Mechanical Engineering or similar
• Previous experience in a similar role in a manufacturing environment
• Proficient using 3D CAD software such as Solid Works, Inventor, Creo, etc.
• Ability to carry out mechanical calculations
• Experience working with process machinery or steel/metal materials desirable
• Good theoretical mechanical engineering knowledge of core principles and tight tolerances
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
• Proficient using MS Office
• Excellent organisational and time management skills
• Ability to work well alone and as part of a small multidisciplinary team

• Working within the current engineering team with other Design Engineers
• Producing 3D designs using Autodesk Inventor CAD software and 2D designs with AutoCAD
• Liaising with manufacturing providers
• Being involved in final assembly of products
• Creating required documentation for design as well as project reports/plans
• Updating 3D models and drawings
• Inputting parts into the MRP system creating BOMs
• Checking drawings for sign off
• Working in a small multidisciplinary team on varied projects
