Senior Design Engineer

PSR Solutions are currently recruiting for a Senior Design Engineer role in North London. This will be working for a well established Tier 1 contractor within the Rail, Civils and Infrastructure industry.

My client is seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Design Engineer to join a leading name in the construction and engineering industry. Based in North London, you will play a key role in leading the design and technical delivery of complex civil and structural engineering projects. • Lead the design and engineering phases of civil and structural projects, ensuring compliance with all relevant industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Develop, review, and approve engineering designs, technical drawings, and specifications.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including architects, project managers, and contractors to deliver integrated design solutions.
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and support to junior engineers and design staff.
• Conduct site visits and technical inspections to verify design implementation and resolve engineering challenges.
• Contribute to project planning, risk assessments, and value engineering to optimise design outcomes.
• Manage project time lines, ensuring design deliverable are completed on schedule and within budget.
• Keep abreast of evolving technologies, industry trends, and best practices to drive innovation and continuous improvement.

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related discipline (Master's degree preferred).
• Chartered Engineer status (CEng) or working towards it.
• Proven experience in structural design engineering within the civil or construction engineering industry.
• Proficient in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, STAAD Pro, or similar tools.
• Strong understanding of relevant UK and international codes, standards, and regulations.
• Excellent analytic and problem‑solving skills with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting strict deadlines.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead discussions and build effective working relationships across teams.
