Mechanical Estimator – Dornan

At Dornan, we are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Estimator to join an existing estimating team based out of our head office in West London. Reporting to the Estimating Lead and working alongside the commercial and construction team, you will provide estimations and advice. As a commercial member of the team, you will be an exemplar ambassador for the company and its values of integrity, dependability, safety, pride, and quality.

Day-to-Day

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and collate tenders and source pre-project information by a given deadline.
  • Provide fast, accurate, competitive and profitable estimates from enquiry stage to bid submission.
  • Follow up on submitted tenders.
  • Analyse sub-contractor / vendor quotations and check inclusions and exclusions.
  • Deal with clients at post tender meetings and conduct presentations.
  • Provide support and assistance to the Estimating team.
  • Attend tender and follow up meetings when required.
  • Perform all other reasonable tasks assigned by the manager.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Detailed knowledge of the Estimating role.
  • Commercial understanding.
  • Brief understanding of Engineering systems.
  • Knowledge of the team's strengths and weaknesses.
  • Ability to prioritise workload.
  • Recognition of own strengths and weaknesses and commitment to ongoing development.
