Position:
Mechanical Design Engineer.
Location:
Northwest London.
Employment type:
Permanent, Full‑time.
Salary: GBP 40,000 – 50,000, dependent on experience.
Role OverviewOur client designs and manufactures bespoke equipment. The Mechanical Design Engineer will work on electromechanical products, using 3D CAD software to develop concepts through production, liaise with clients, collaborate across departments, maintain documentation, support testing, and mentor junior members.
Responsibilities- Design and develop electromechanical products using Inventor 3D CAD software on a day‑to‑day basis.
- Develop ideas from concept to production.
- Create models and prototypes.
- Liaise with clients and develop solutions for design specifications.
- Collaborate with multiple departments to ensure smooth project delivery.
- Maintain technical drawings and documentation.
- Provide technical guidance and support.
- Support product testing, verification, and validation.
- Support and mentor more junior team members.
- At least 3 years’ experience in a similar design or mechanical engineering position.
- Strong 3D CAD skills in Inventor, Solid Works, Creo or similar.
- Experience designing precision equipment, machinery, complex mechanical components or electronic products.
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering.
- Knowledge of materials such as sheet metal, injection moulded plastics, etc.
- Experienced in designing products from concept to production.
- Excellent theoretical mechanical engineering knowledge of core principles and tight tolerances.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficient using MS Office.
- Excellent organisational and time‑management skills.
- Capability to work independently and as part of a small multidisciplinary team.
GBP 40,000 – 50,000, dependent on experience.
