Field Development Geologist - Exploration – Relocate to Saudi Arabia
Aramco – Greater London, England, United Kingdom
Aramco energizes the world economy. Aramco occupies a special position in the global energy industry. We are one of the world’s largest producers of hydrocarbon energy and chemicals, with among the lowest Upstream carbon intensities of any major producer.
With our significant investment in technology and infrastructure, we strive to maximize the value of the energy we produce for the world along with a commitment to enhance Aramco’s value to society.
Headquartered in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and with offices around the world, we combine market discipline with a generations’ spanning view of the future, born of our nine decades experience as responsible stewards of the Kingdom’s vast hydrocarbon resources.
This responsibility has driven us to deliver significant societal and economic benefits to not just the Kingdom, but also to a vast number of communities, economies, and countries that rely on the vital and reliable energy that we supply.
We are one of the most profitable companies in the world, as well as amongst the top five global companies by market capitalization.
Overview:
We are seeking a Field Development Geologist to join the Manifa/AFK & Satellite Fields Division.
The Manifa/AFK & Satellite Fields Division is responsible for providing characterization and assessment of oil resources of developed fields at the highest definition required through building and maintaining always-ready integrated earth models to assess and update all in-place oil resources, support the optimization of oil field development and ensure excellence in well placement.
Your primary role is to utilize all available Geological, Geophysical, Petrophysical, and other dynamic information to identify optimum subsurface target/s for all type of wells such as vertical, S-shape, J-shape, Single lateral and multi-lateral wells in order to place wells in the targeted reservoirs for maximum reservoir contact.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform and conduct reservoir characterization studies, including Log-to-core integration, mapping, sequence stratigraphy and 3D geological modeling (facies distribution, structural updates and reservoir properties).
- Contribute to field development plans through well planning using simulation ready 3D integrated model.
- Perform well planning, including creating well targets data with reservoir and drilling engineers, generate well trajectories and loading the directional data, and prepare geological prognosis (including but not limited to tops, cross sections and correlation panels).
- Monitor operational and geo-steering activities for all types of wells (horizontal, deviated, and vertical) in the office or offsite if needed, perform well evaluations while and post drilling, making well correlations, generating and/or updating maps for structural, strati graphic and fluid limits in light of new drilling information, and making critical decisions for wellbore adjustments.
- Interact with concerned geoscientists in the Reservoir Characterization Department, Reservoir Engineers, Drilling & Workover Engineers, and other stakeholders to communicate clearly issues in drilling activities, and prepare post-drilling analysis.
- Integrate all seismic, core, facies, structure and petrophysical data into a 3D geological model for updates after drilling activities and for updating volumetric calculations.
- Integrate all available Geological, Geophysical, Petrophysical, Sedimentological, and 3D geological model and other dynamic information for advanced reservoir characterization studies to in-depth understanding for reservoir architecture and flow behavior.
- Integrate all characterization studies to identify suitable locations for well placement.
- Update 3D geological models both structurally and petrophysical properties.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Geology or Geoscience from an accredited university. An advanced degree is a plus.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in Field development activities or role of development geologist, including experience in reservoir geology, drilling operations, field…
