Mechanical Design Engineer – Water Systems

An opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Design Engineer (Water Systems) to join a well-established provider of sustainable water‑management systems, specialising in rainwater harvesting, greywater recycling and SuDS solutions.

As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will design water‑saving systems (rainwater harvesting and greywater recycling), including planning and specifying mechanical water systems, producing AutoCAD/Revit drawings.

This role offers a salary range of GBP 30,000 : GBP 35,000 and benefits. Ideally, the candidate would be based in Central London.

• Developing feasibility concepts, proposals, and technical specifications for rainwater harvesting and greywater recycling systems.
• Driving designs from concept to tender stage, delivering efficient and competitive solutions in line with company strategy.
• Prepare quotes, proposals, tender documents, and technical specifications.
• Supporting the creation of written submissions in line with project requirements.
• Liaising closely with contractors and consultants to gather project data and ensure milestones are achieved.
• Support design work by drafting and updating schematics and technical drawings in AutoCAD.
• Create basic coordination models using Revit.

• Previously worked as a Mechanical Design Engineer, Design Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, CAD Engineer, Water Systems Design Engineer or in a similar role.
• Experience with in an engineering environment and familiarity with the design and construction process.
• Ideally have experience working with water systems such as rainwater harvesting systems, greywater recycling systems, mechanical water systems (pumps, tanks, pipes, valves, filters, control units).
• A relevant engineering qualification or equivalent technical background.
• AutoCAD experience is essential and REVIT beneficial.
• Confident interpreting mechanical and drainage drawings.
