Water Hygiene Engineer – Mitie Cleaning & Hygiene Services

We are currently looking for a Water Hygiene Engineer to complete a range of Legionella maintenance PPMs, remedial cleaning, sampling, chemical testing, minor plumbing and electro/mechanical tasks to meet clients' requirements. We welcome applicants with limited or no direct experience, provided they have relevant experience in similar fields. • Completion of routine monitoring tasks in line with the Approved Code of Practice L8.
• Mobile role travelling to client sites to maintain compliance.
• Act as an ambassador for Mitie while visiting customer sites.
• Maintain water log books and complete documentation in accordance with guidelines and policy.
• Take a variety of water samples from multiple sector properties and document samples per company procedures.
• Carry out water system cleaning and disinfection in accordance with APCO L8 and company procedures.
• Test, service and maintain thermostatic mixing valves and basic plumbing works where required.
• Desirable: experience with heating and chilled water systems and chlorine dioxide systems.
• Communicate daily with the service department to ensure tasks are carried out efficiently.
• Maintain adequate stocks of chemicals and materials as necessary.
• Ensure equipment is kept clean and properly maintained.
• Develop and maintain good working relationships with colleagues, suppliers and customers.
• Treat personal health and safety responsibilities seriously, following company policy and site-specific requirements.
• Complete any reasonable task requested by the manager or the business.

• Previous experience within Compliance Servicing, Legionella Monitoring or Water Treatment is essential.
• Relevant experience in similar fields if no direct experience.
• Advanced knowledge and experience of maintaining water systems is desirable.
• Basic IT skills, including tablets/mobile devices and Microsoft programmes are necessary.
• Strong communication skills are required in all parts of the role.
• Ability to work alone and as part of a team, thriving in both environments.
