  • Experienced Net Zero Senior Manager with a strong building services background to lead the delivery on our increasing number of Net Zero projects and programmes across the private sector.

    Responsibilities:

    • Lead the delivery of our Net Zero Retrofit Service offer on projects through the development of Net Zero Roadmaps and programmes for individual buildings to global property portfolios.
    • Project leadership of a team of Net Zero consultants to deliver measurable outcomes through service excellence.
    • Client‑facing role leading project delivery and supporting the growth of existing and new accounts.
    • Support Net Zero work‑winning through expanding existing client relationships and providing bid support.
    • Conduct Net Zero audits to deliver feasibility studies and delivery strategies, including detailed energy and carbon‑saving calculations.
    • Perform detailed energy data analysis.
    • Research new low‑carbon system and technology opportunities to meet clients’ unique requirements.
    • Incorporate financial analysis into Net Zero roadmaps and retrofit strategies.
    • Report on asset performance against client and industry targets (SBTi, NZCBS, etc.) and conduct CRREM analysis.
    • Provide technical assurance by reviewing contractors’ proposals and advising on design developments during pre‑ and post‑tender stages.
    • Provide Net Zero advice and support to address major sustainability issues with stakeholders, upskilling project teams along the way.
    • Support the digitisation of Mace’s Net Zero Retrofit Service.
    • Champion sustainability, lead and encourage behavioural change throughout the business.
    • Upskill colleagues and raise Mace’s external profile through forums, working groups, and client presentations.
    • Line‑manage with responsibility for upskilling and career development.
    • Innovate and champion best practice, clearly communicating benefits and results to colleagues and clients.

    Qualifications:

    • Strong engineering (Building Services) background with over 5 years of experience.
    • Detailed knowledge of building energy systems and reduction opportunities across various building types and sectors.
    • Proven track record of delivering Net Zero roadmaps and energy audits with measurable outcomes.
    • Strong experience working with clients to identify goals and develop carbon‑reduction strategies in the built environment.
    • Proven client‑relationship management and stakeholder engagement experience.
    • Excellent verbal, visual, and written communication skills, translating technical knowledge into clear actions to articulate the value of Net Zero.
    • Relevant tertiary qualification – professional memberships (e.g., EMA, CIBSE, ASHRAE, EI, GRI, CISL) or postgraduate degree.
      • Strong knowledge of sustainable building design, including embodied and operational carbon and energy reduction in new build and refurbishment projects, and the programme, cost and operational impacts of NZC strategies.
    • Track record of client account management and work‑winning.
    • Strong project‑management and time‑management skills.
    • Problem‑solving ability, thinking laterally and adapting previous experience and solutions to new project contexts.
    • Proactive, self‑motivated, able to work independently and complete all stages of a Net Zero roadmap with minimal support.
    • Familiarity with industry frameworks such as SBTi, NZCBS, CRREM and RIBA.
