The Opportunity

As a Senior EIA Consultant
, you will join a dynamic Environmental Planning team, working alongside a diverse group of technical experts across a wide range of projects. You will take the lead in managing and delivering Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) and associated documentation, building strong client relationships, supporting new business development, and providing guidance to junior team members.

You will play a key role in coordinating EIA projects, liaising with multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring environmental considerations are integrated throughout project delivery. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to make a real impact on nationally significant developments, including major infrastructure and renewable energy projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and provide technical advice on multidisciplinary environmental inputs across a range of projects, with a focus on EIA management to support development consent.
  • Coordinate the preparation of EIA screening and scoping reports, and Environmental Statements, including technical review of specialist chapters.
  • Work collaboratively with design and technical teams to ensure environmental considerations are appropriately addressed.
  • Manage resources, delegate activities, and monitor project budgets in partnership with the EIA team.
  • Provide advice on sustainability initiatives, including carbon-neutral and environmental best practices.
  • Prepare high-quality EIA reports and planning appraisals with clear recommendations.
  • Support fee proposal preparation to generate new business opportunities.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior team members (where applicable).
About You
  • Environmental or related degree (essential).
  • Chartered status or working towards chartership (CIWEM, CIEEM, IEMA).
  • Consultancy experience with demonstrated capability in managing EIA projects.
  • Experience providing technical advice for large and mid-level infrastructure projects.
  • Up-to-date and competent knowledge of EIA technical requirements and legislation.
  • Strong report writing and analytical skills with the ability to deliver to a high standard.
  • Experience mentoring and managing junior team members is desirable.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams and maintain strong client relationships.
