What This Job Involves

The UK&I, Northern EU, CEE & Germany PDS & Tetris HSSE Lead will be responsible for implementing and managing HSSE within JLL UK&I, Northern EU, CEE & Germany PDS & Tetris. The objective is to ensure that employees return home safely and that all PDS & Tetris projects are managed safely. The role requires positively influencing HSSE, raising awareness, and promoting personal accountability for safety and wellness.

The position is highly visible and fast-paced, and the successful candidate must provide timely, relevant information and counsel for HSSE matters to stakeholders such as employees and clients. They must have an acute eye for HSSE risk and be able to foster a strong HSSE culture, deliver world-class HSSE results, improved productivity, and flawless execution. The role supports the development of JLL’s EMEA PDS & Tetris HSSE strategy as part of the leadership team.

Reporting and Stakeholders This role reports directly to the EMEA PDS & Tetris HSSE Operations Lead. Day-to-day accountability is to the UK&I, Northern EU, CEE & Germany PDS & Tetris geo leaders with regular reporting on HSSE performance across UK&I, Northern EU, CEE & Germany PDS & Tetris to the boards and the EMEA PDS & Tetris HSSE Operations Lead. Other key stakeholders include the PDS operations teams, country leaders, other HSSE leaders, Risk & Compliance and HR.

Responsibilities
  • Implement global HSSE strategic objectives and tailor them for UK&I, Northern EU, CEE & Germany PDS & Tetris with operational relevance.
  • Manage and reduce operational risks by providing guidance on health and safety risk management at all levels.
  • Provide technical advice on HSSE issues and communicate changes in legislation impacting service delivery and client operations.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant current legislation.
  • Identify improvement opportunities and support operations teams in identifying practical, cost-effective HSSE risk controls.
  • Ensure HSSE risk assessment for EMEA PDS & Tetris operations in line with legal requirements.
  • Manage accident and incident investigations for EMEA PDS & Tetris.
  • Organize, implement, and maintain an effective HSSE communication plan for UK&I, Northern EU, CEE & Germany PDS & Tetris.
  • Chair a UK&I, Northern EU, CEE & Germany PDS & Tetris HSSE Forum.
Leadership
  • Foster a Culture of One Team SAFER Together across UK&I, Northern EU, CEE & Germany PDS & Tetris.
  • Develop and manage internal and external stakeholder relationships.
  • Deliver an exceptional quality of service across UK&I, Northern EU, CEE & Germany PDS & Tetris as reflected by internal feedback.
  • Embed EMEA HSSE requirements and meet stakeholder expectations.
  • Establish effective collaborative relationships with teams, clients, and contractors.
  • Contribute to the EMEA HSSE program as part of the JLL EMEA PDS & Tetris HSSE Leadership Team.
  • Lead and inspire the UK&I, Northern EU, CEE & Germany PDS & Tetris HSSE Team, coordinating HSSE across countries and geographies.
Standards
  • Oversee the implementation and maintenance of global HSSE controls (processes, standards, procedures, guidelines) ensuring compliance with obligations and JLL’s HSSE aspirations.
  • Develop best-practice HSSE training programs and resources.
  • Implement HSSE strategy and operating protocols for contractor safety performance.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and manage changes related to new or revised legislation.
  • Oversee assurance for the HSSE program and support growth strategies related to clients, JLL, and industry standards.

What We Expect from You / Our Ideal Candidate
  • A minimum of 10 years HSSE management experience within operational management systems, with experience working with investor and corporate clients.
  • Appropriate recognized professional HSSE qualifications and memberships.
  • Management system development, implementation, and auditing experience.
  • Deep understanding of the HSSE regulatory environment.
  • Experience implementing HSSE technology platforms and data management tools.
  • Practical working knowledge of tools and techniques within a real estate environment and risk management across a multi-site portfolio.
