£55,000 - £60,000 + Benefits Package

A leading engineering contractor is looking for a lead Mechanical Design Engineer to manage a small team of internal Design Engineers and external design consultancies. This internationally recognised contractor has a first‑class reputation within the industry for delivering well‑renowned commercial office developments in Central London with first‑class accreditations. The contractor currently does not have a design management team and is therefore expanding into this sector to improve efficiency and quality.

• Managing the mechanical services design from concept to completion
• Managing tenders from consultants, reviewing the content, and advising the Project Director
• Working with internal MEP Coordinators and installation teams to ensure services are installed to correct standards and specifications
• Working with the BIM Manager on any issues at early stages of projects
• Managing an internal team of Design Engineers who carry out small works design when it is not commercially viable to use external resources

• At least 8 years’ experience within a Building Services Consultancy or Design and Build Contractor
• Experience managing projects from inception to completion
• Experience working on projects in Central London
• Experience working to CIBSE standards
• Experience working alongside a BIM Manager
