Senior Facade Engineer

. We’re looking for a design leader in the façades discipline with a strong technical and practical focus. You would be joining a well‑established team that is now focusing on specific sectors to enhance and grow, with a wide range of technically demanding projects, including the Museum of the Future in Dubai, Battersea Power Station redevelopment, and Stratford Waterfront.

You would be working closely with our Technical Due Diligence Lead to support and expand our service in this field. Key aspects include site inspections, condition assessments, performance analysis, defect investigation, compliance validation, reports, and client‑facing responsibilities.

Your next role:

• Lead façade projects as a Facades Job Leader.
• Attend and chair meetings with architects, contractors, and other stakeholders in an advisory capacity.
• Develop projects technically to reach conclusions or recommendations.
• Provide input on bids and work‑winning.
• Support senior staff in providing strong design leadership on façade issues.
• Maintain good client relations throughout the job and work with a variety of stakeholders.
• Mentor junior team members, with potential line‑management responsibilities.

Your skills and experience:

• Firm foundation of façade engineering experience and a solid technical base.
• Practical understanding of typical façade systems and on‑site experience during installation or investigations.
• Familiarity with façade detailed drawings and ability to interpret support/restraint strategy, weather tightness, passive fire strategy, thermal lines, cold bridges, airtightness strategy, and movement/tolerance strategy.
• Proficiency in façade performance assessment to identify issues affecting functionality and longevity.
• Knowledge of façade structural behaviour and ability to identify potential structural issues.
• Experience handling and fabricating typical cladding materials.
• Academic background in Structural Engineering, MEP Services, Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, or a joint qualification; advanced qualifications such as an MSc in Façade Engineering from Bath University or PhD level research are highly valued.
• Achieved Chartered Engineer, Professional Engineer or equivalent registration with the ECUK or another appropriate body.
• Experience on international and domestic projects with willingness to travel as needed.
• Established senior engineer capable of providing design leadership from a secure technical base.
• Proactive risk identification, concise communication, and comprehensive recommendation skills.
• Strong verbal and visual communication skills, including hand sketches and clear presentation.
• Hybrid working model; expected to join the office 2–3 days a week.
