Key Responsibilities
  • Project Delivery:
    Lead and contribute to the development, planning, and delivery of active travel and public realm projects, including walking and cycling infrastructure, road safety improvements, and sustainable transport initiatives.
  • Design & Planning:
    Provide transport planning and engineering expertise to design and optimize active travel routes, cycle lanes, pedestrian pathways, and public spaces that promote accessibility and sustainability.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:
    Work closely with local authorities, stakeholders, and communities to ensure that projects align with public needs, local priorities, and regulatory requirements.
  • Data Analysis & Research:
    Conduct surveys, traffic analysis, and research to support decision‑making and ensure that all designs meet technical, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Policy & Strategy:
    Contribute to the development of transport policies and strategies focused on enhancing active travel options and improving public realm environments in urban and suburban settings.
  • Collaboration:

    Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including urban designers, architects, and environmental consultants, to deliver high‑quality, integrated solutions.
  • Reporting & Documentation:
    Prepare reports, presentations, and proposals for clients, authorities, and stakeholders, detailing project progress, outcomes, and any design modifications.
Required Skills & Experience
  • Degree in Transport Planning, Civil Engineering, Urban Design, or a related field.
  • Proven experience (3+ years) in transport planning or engineering, specifically focused on active travel (cycling, walking) and public realm projects.
  • Familiarity with relevant policies, guidelines, and standards related to active travel and public realm design.
  • Strong technical skills in transport modeling, traffic analysis, and GIS‑based tools (e.g., AutoCAD, ArcGIS).
  • Experience in public consultation and stakeholder engagement processes.
  • Ability to think creatively and innovate solutions that prioritize sustainable transport and public space improvements.
  • Knowledge of the latest trends, best practices, and technological advancements in active travel and public realm projects.
