Mechanical Engineer; Temporary

Position: Mechanical Engineer (Temporary)
The Best Connection are currently recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join a well-established client based in the Wallington area. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled engineer looking for stable, full-time work within a supportive and technical environment.

Working Hours:

Monday to Friday

8:30am - 5:30pm

30-minute unpaid lunch break

Pay Rate:

£12.50 per hour and above, dependent on experience

Key Responsibilities:

As a Mechanical Engineer, your duties will include but are not limited to:

Hand placement of surface mount devices (SMD), including small components down to 0402 size

Reworking SMD and through-hole PCBs by hand

Diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs using schematics

Hand soldering of surface-mount and through-hole components

Testing products using standard test equipment, including multimeters and oscilloscopes

Programming and testing products (full training will be provided where required)

What We're Looking For:

Proven experience working in an engineering or electronics-based role

Strong experience with SMD placement and rework

Confident fault-finding and diagnostic skills

Ability to read and understand schematics

A methodical approach with strong attention to detail

Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently as well as part of a team
