Overview
Ofgem — The energy regulator for Great Britain. We’re leading the fight to transform Britain’s energy infrastructure into a transparent, bi-directional and data-driven system that meets Net Zero goals and delivers for consumers. We’re looking for three Infrastructure Strategy Experts to join us and help shape the strategic direction and delivery of a fairer, smarter, more resilient energy future.

We’re at the forefront of change across the energy sector, driving toward Net Zero whilst protecting energy consumers, especially vulnerable people. We’re offering three permanent positions with the unique opportunity to influence two high-impact portfolios:
Infrastructure Co-ordination & Prioritisation, and Digitalisation & Decentralisation. You’ll work on strategic energy system priorities at the heart of our mission, from long-term infrastructure planning to consumer participation in demand-side flexibility.
As part of a diverse and collaborative team, you’ll drive forward regulatory strategy that directly shapes the UK’s energy landscape. This is a highly visible expert role where you’ll help embed system thinking, challenge senior leaders constructively, and advise on critical policy direction that delivers tangible change.
ResponsibilitiesAs an Infrastructure Strategy Expert, contribute to shaping the strategic direction and delivery of infrastructure priorities and digitalisation initiatives. Lead complex cross-cutting work and advise on policy direction that supports a resilient, low-cost, low-carbon energy future. Communicate effectively to influence high-level decision-making and collaborate with senior stakeholders across the organisation.
Qualifications- Deep experience in the energy sector and regulation.
- Ability to act as a trusted strategic advisor across the organisation.
- Agility to lead complex cross-cutting work and strong communication skills to influence senior decision-makers.
- Experience in leading sector-shaping initiatives and addressing urgent infrastructure policy challenges.
